April 26, 2007, San Francisco, CA – The Erotic Service Providers Union (www.ESPU-ca.org), in conjunction with The Harvey Milk Democratic Club, is proud to announce the addition of Alotta BouttÈ and members of D.I.E. to the entertainment line up for the first-ever ‘San Francisco Courtesan Carnival.' The Porn Star Karaoke Rock and Roll Show and Auction at Annie's Social Club, on April 29, 2007, from 6:00 p.m. to 10 p.m., is the first in a series of ‘San Francisco Courtesan Carnival' charity events and parties that will support labor rights and education funding for erotic service providers.
Straight from the womb to the limelight, Alotta BouttÈ has been performing since her first breath. Alotta's diverse influences, from the stories of her moonshinin' grandpa and brazen matriarchy combined with her rich Creole family history and the dirty blues of the deep south, are responsible for her inimitable performance and vocal style. Alotta BouttÈ is a bawdy, brassy, juke-joint mamma who performs with class and sass with Harlem Shake Burlesque and solo throughout San Francisco.
Veterans of the San Francisco late night counterculture scene, and frequent performers at Mondo Porno, Chez Badunkadunk, and Hybrid, DJ's Davide and Simone of the industrial-techno trance outfit, D.I.E., will perform their expressive, exciting, and dynamic music. Enigmatic, bizarre and one of the most progressive music producers and programmers on the San Francisco, as well as international, music scene, Davide creates an authentically lush and intricate soundscape. Simone has been active in the performance art community for over fifteen years and her eclectic and eccentric music is always in psychic rhythm with her audience.
Audience members are also encouraged to enter and perform in the Porno Karaoke Contest, where contestants have to moan, groan, gasp, grunt, verbalize and vocalize along with award-winning porn movie clips. Those best at faking it between the sheets can now bedazzle a live audience with their fabulous faking skills for a chance to win fantastic prizes. In addition, a live and silent charity auction will include gift baskets of leading high-quality marital aids from the best purveyors of adult novelty items in the world, as well as a one-of-a-kind hand-made sterling silver and antique stone necklace and earring jewelry set, valued at over $1,000.00, from www.RobinAlbachten.com
Funds acquired during this event will provide tuition so 50 erotic service providers can attend Summer Institute for Union Women training that will educate them about their occupational, health, safety, social, civil and economic rights. In addition, erotic service providers will learn how to negotiate for improved wages and work conditions, organizing and how to stay organized, as well as how to wield the power of collective bargaining.
The Erotic Service Providers Union seeks to gain agency on behalf of all erotic service providers regarding their occupational, health, safety, social, civil, and economic rights through affiliating with organized labor. An Erotic Service Provider is anyone who is compensated for his or her erotic services or compensated for their support of someone else's erotic service, including prostitutes, escorts, exotic dancers, phone sex operators, and porn actors.
