December 5, 2007, San Francisco, CA - The Exotic Erotic Ball - the world's largest and longest running adult party event – has announced the results from its 28 th annual show, which was held October 26 and 27, 2007, at the Cow Palace in San Francisco.   Total attendance was over 22,000, with a male/female ratio of 55/45.   Over 150 bona fide press and media reps attended the event, including press representatives from the UK, China and the Philippines.   T he Ball received unprecedented national press coverage, including segments on Fox and MSNBC, and when the Exotic Erotic Ball announced the Snoop Dogg benefit performance as part of its entertainment line-up in September, over 850 leading media outlets broke the news.  The Expo featured 86 exhibitors comprising 124 exhibitor spaces.   Hotel room bookings were up over 40% from 2006, and the number of unique visitors to the event's website hit a new high, up by 28%.   The event raised more money for charity than any other show in its 28-year history, and its ‘Blood Drive For Ball Tickets' numbers were also up 105%, “Making it a bloody awesome promotion,” quipped Ball founder, Perry Mann.

“It's the highest percentage of females we've had at the Ball since we started counting a few years ago,” said Producer Howard Mauskopf.   “The overall numbers were the third-highest in our history – not bad considering there was an unrelated incident near the Cow Palace the morning of our show which adversely impacted the walk-up.   The increase in hotel room bookings reflect more people coming from out of town.   We were helped greatly in that regard by our national affiliations with Eros.com and XBiz.”

As in previous years, the 2007 Exotic Erotic Ball also received many accolades and awards to add to its collection. Art Mann from HDTV dubbed the Ball as “The #1 Party Event of All Time”, and Playboy TV included the Ball as one of its “69 Things to Do Before You Die.” Danny Bonaduce, a special guest who delighted fans by appearing impromptu with the Chippendale Dancers with naught but a hat covering his crotch, said it all when he commented: “I am not sure that there are any other parties on this scale that are this cool.”

But the biggest and most publicized award was the one that was taken away.   The SF Mayor's Office notified the Ball that Perry Mann and Snoop Dogg would receive a Proclamation for raising funds for The Healing Circle.   The following day, at a press conference, the Mayor's Office retracted the Proclamation, allegedly to avoid controversy.   It didn't work.   The SF Chronicle ran the retraction as its lead local story.   Bill O'Reilly was among the national pundits who covered the Ball and seized the opportunity to focus on the SF Mayor's ironic misstep, and Keith Olbermann was among those who critiqued O'Reilly's take.

“O'Reilly is no fan of San Francisco, but he was pretty gentle and good-humored about the Ball,” adds Mann.

When first interviewed about the retraction by the San Francisco Chronicle, Mann was angry, and said: "We'd like to say that we understand the city's decision to withdraw the proclamation, but we don't.   We'd like to say we respect the decision, but we can't.   This is an insult to The Healing Circle.”

The Healing Circle, a support group for mothers who have lost one or more children to inner city violence, took the high road. Said co-founder Mattie Scott: “we are so grateful to Perry Mann and the Exotic Erotic Ball for the funds and exposure they have given to our cause.   We are so often neglected by so many.   The Mayor's decision disappoints us, but it's typical of what we face in our quest to be heard on a day-to-day basis.”

Founded in 1979 as a political fundraiser by Perry Mann and the late Louis Abolafia, the Exotic Erotic Ball has regaled over half a million attendees over nearly three decades.   The 2007 entertainment lineup featured Snoop Dogg (Friday) plus Peaches, Donald Glaude, The Spyderz, The Unauthorized Rolling Stones, the all little person tribute band Mini Kiss, and a bevy of on-stage shenanigans commandeered by host Paul Nathan with guests Bonaduce, Tera Patrick, Raquel Devine, and Devinn Lane, among others, plus 65 fetish, burlesque, and circus acts.

The 2007 Exotic Erotic Ball was sponsored by XFanz.com, and the Presenting Sponsors of the two-day Expo leading up to the Ball were Eros.com, SexSearch.com, and Clips4Sale.com.

In light of its heightened political stature, the Ball has announced the debut of its Official Exotic Erotic Newsletter – which will be sent exclusively to its private email list.   “We'll write about what we feel like writing about, we'll rant on occasion, and we promise never to be boring,” says Mann.
