Exotic Erotic Ball & Sonicbids Team Up to Offer Gigs for Indie Bands
Over 200 Bands Submit EPK's to Join Snoop Dogg, Spyderz, Glaude on Sexy Halloween Weekend Bill

SAN FRANCISCO, CA (September 13, 2007) The 28 th annual Exotic Erotic Ball and Expo, the internationally acclaimed Celebration of Flesh, Fetish , and Fantasy, and - according to E! Entertainment TV - “The World's #1 Wildest and Sexiest Party," has renewed its longstanding commitment to promoting independent music by joining forces with Sonicbids for its 2007 show.   The 2007 show marks the Ball's first-ever collaboration with Sonicbids, in which two bands who submit EPK's – or “electronic press kits” - through the Sonicbids system will be awarded full-paying gigs at the 2007 Ball, October 27 th , 2007, at the Cow Palace in San Francisco.   Hundreds of bands submitted before the September 5 deadline, and winners will be notified by September 20.

“This was a very successful collaboration,” says Ball founder Perry Mann.   “We know that the Ball is very visible, and that virtually any band with a sexy lead singer or provocative lyrics feels they are a great fit with the show, and many of them are.   The problem for us is that each year, we receive hundreds of requests, and become inundated with DVD's, CD's, mp3's, and links.   We don't have the time or manpower to sift through the submissions.   This has always bothered me, because we have a real commitment to the indie music market.   So this year, through our hook-up with Sonicbids, every submission gets listened to and rated for our purposes, we can instantly see video, photos, read bio's, all online without switching between mediums.   We have reserved two performance slots at the 2007 Ball for Sonicbids submissions, and I'm looking forward to shaking hands with the winners on stage at the Ball.”

Snoop Dogg will perform live during the Exotic Erotic Weekend on Friday night, October 26, 2007, as part of a benefit performance for The Healing Circle.   Snoop will return to the Ball the next night as a special guest, where he will join Tera Patrick and Danny Bonaduce as judges of the Ball's famous costume contests. Other musical performances include The Spyderz (the latest rock troupe from Evan Seinfeld, ex- Biohazard frontman and star of HBO's hit series, Oz ), America's favorite house DJ Donald Glaude, and the all-little person tribute band Mini-Kiss.   The show also includes an arts installation with the theme Make Love, Not War, a customized Spike & Mike's Sick & Twisted Animation Festival, and 65 additional burlesque, circus, and novelty acts.

The full weekend of entertainment occurs at the Cow Palace in San Francisco over Halloween Weekend, beginning Friday afternoon, October 26, with the Exotic Erotic Expo, and concluding Saturday night, October 27, with the Exotic Erotic Ball.     “The Ball”, which is being produced in association with XFANZ, has been titillating San Francisco audiences with arousing adult amusement for over a quarter-century, and is widely considered the #1 adult-themed party event in the world.   The "Expo" is a two-day event which begins Friday at Noon, features its own entertainment lineup, in addition to over 100 exhibits showcasing the latest in exotic fashion, erotic art, adult products, games, websites, and novelties, and is being sponsored by XBiz.com.

“We are proud and excited to be partnering with the Exotic Erotic Ball,” says David Ellis of Sonicbids. “Providing our member bands with high profile gigs capable of advancing their careers is precisely what Sonicbids is all about.”

The Exotic Erotic Ball has delighted and regaled over half a million attendees and participants over its highly acclaimed history.   Celebrity guests and performers have included Grace Jones, Joan Jett, Kool & the Gang, Chris Isaak, Madonna, Sugar Ray, Dennis Rodman, Ron Jeremy, Motorhead, The Tubes, the Allman Brothers, and Everclear.

APPENDIX TO RELEASE:   THE HISTORY OF THE BALL

Perry Mann organized the first Exotic Erotic Ball in 1979 to raise campaign funds for his buddy, the late Louis Abolafia, who was running for President with the Nudist Party under the slogan:   “I have nothing to hide.”   Louis is credited with coining the phrase, “Make Love, Not War” and his legendary Greenwich Village love-ins inspired the New York press to crown him “The Love King.”

Since its first year, more than 500,000 people have attended the Ball.   The City of San Francisco has issued three proclamations for “Exotic Erotic Ball Day,” twice by former Mayor Willie Brown (in 1999 and again in 2001), and once by current Mayor Gavin Newsom (in 2004).

Celebrity guests and performers have included Grace Jones, Joan Jett, Kool & the Gang, Chris Isaak, Madonna, Sugar Ray, Dennis Rodman, Ron Jeremy, Motorhead, The Tubes, Everclear, Nina Hartley.   In 2001, Mann (with Foreword by Dennis Rodman) released the book: The Exotic Erotic Ball: Twenty Years of the World's Sexiest Party .   In 2004, Mann introduced the Exotic Erotic Expo, which grew into a two-day event in 2005 .

“The premise to the Ball has always been simple,” says Mann.   “We give people a safe haven to act out their fantasies - within the law, of course.   We attract men and women of all ages, heterosexuals, gays, lesbians, and transsexuals.   We welcome students, teachers, lawyers, stockbrokers, secretaries, doctors, nurses, and - of course - members of Congress.   At our San Francisco Ball, people not only come from all over the Bay Area, but about a third of our crowd comes from outside California entirely.   There was a time when many events were independently produced, and developed a following based upon having regard for their audience, providing quality content, and invoking a spirit of respect and camaraderie; I am not sure that is so true today.   People who attend this event know it doesn't matter who you are, what you do, or where you're from – at the Exotic Erotic Ball, everyone's a star!”

Over the past quarter-century, the Ball has evolved from local to world-renowned legend. It celebrates human sexuality, promotes freedom of expression, and has raised innumerable funds in support of many worthy charities, thus fostering strong ties to the community.   The Ball is an ardent and vocal supporter of First Amendment Rights. Among its other causes have been AIDS, domestic violence, child abuse, homelessness, and problems of the inner city. It hosts an annual blood drive with Blood Centers of the Pacific.

‘Make Love, Not War' was once the rallying cry of a generation,” adds Perry Mann.   “Yet I don't think that message has ever been timelier than it is today, and I don't think our show has ever been more topical either.   We are going to make sure that the 2007 Exotic Erotic Ball and Expo is a very special event.”
